Random acts of silliness!

I believe in Random acts of silliness and I know they are important to my mental health. I have an example, so... I was hanging with my mother about three weeks ago and we were standing in her kitchen chatting. I remember clearly that I was standing in front of the sink and my mother asks in an Irish accents "so, how are you darlin". Now you may not think this is strange since you probably don't know my mom, but she is from here (U.S.A) and she can't do an accent on purpose to save her life and I'm not kidding. Anyway continuing the story I paused and replied in kind (Irish accent and all) "Well I'm doin fine mother, and how are youuu?" She laughed and then I asked her in an Irish accent "since when have you been talkin with an Irish accent mum?" It was total silliness, we laughed and have laughed about it several times since then. Not as funny in the re-telling I know but the point is more salient in a story. In case you missed the point: be silly, have fun, don't take life or your self to serious, and by all mean if your mom breaks into an accent for no apparent reason run with it!

  1. What a great story, it has inspired me! Thanks for sharing! Your mom sounds like a sweetie.

I will never stop being silly until the day I die. I come from a long line of silly folks.

Recently I found an i phone app that plays the bagpipes. When I want to elicit a giggle from someone around me, I launch the app and play "amazing grace" (its the first thing I learned) and its really loud. Its downright goofy. And, it really annoys my kids, which is fair play.

My parents are constantly telling me wacky stories. Recently, my father told me that he accidentally swallowed his hearing aids, thinking they were his medication. He recently had eye surgery and now has perfect eyesight. I'm really curious how that happened. He refused to let me post the story on FB so hopefully me sharing this embarrassing story won't get back to him, LOL!

My mom also tells me silly stuff. She was walking into the living room and tripped on something left on the floor. Luckily, she was close to the sofa and able to land there instead of the tile floor. My dad, meanwhile, sitting in his recliner, observed the entire escapade. When he realized that my mom was o.k., he reached for pen and pad, wrote something down, and held it up.

    It said: "10.0"

Truly, I don't make this stuff up.

Hope to hear some more silly stories from your readers!
